New stories coming your way!

Great news!!! I'm so excited! After some changes that left me terrified for a while, I have a new editor and she offered me two, count them TWO contracts. One for the Ellora's Cave Moderne line and one for a new line they are preparing to put out!

I'll admit, I lost a few nights sleep over the changes. Self doubt crept in, took root and bloomed. But, things worked out and I have two stories that are contracted.

At this point the titles are Spliced and Less talk, More Action. Not sure if they'll be changed or not.

I'll be posting publish dates and all important details when I can.

Stay tuned.......

Tempest's Gift in Audio

I finished proofing Tempest's Gift in audio. I have to admit, I've never listened to an audio book before. I prefer reading rather than listening, so this was a new experience for me. It was strange hearing my words read back to me. Hearing someone else's interpretation of my story. The small inflections in sentences, words and of course how the reader creates the character's voices.

Yes, it was strange and I'm not sure I'll be buying any audio books for a while. I much prefer reading and letting the story take life in my imagination. Don't get me wrong, the reader did a wonderful job and maybe if I'd listened to someone else's book first, I might have a different opinion. It took some time to work up the courage to begin listening, but after I got past the first chapter, it went smoothly. Still, nothing beats reading a book for yourself.

When I find out the release date, I'll post it along with the link.

WHere has my muse gone?

I've been struggling to write lately. It seems my muse has taken a vacation or gone on strike. Don't get me wrong, words come, but not with the passion that usually accompanies it. The other day I wrote just over 4000 words. The next day I read them and hit the delete button. Frustrating, you bet your sweet little butt.

Last night I was sitting starring blindly at the television waiting for my son to call and pick him up from the football game, and it hit me why I've been struggling so fiercely. I'm not being stimulated, or should I say my brain isn't being stimulated. I always let my husband pick what we watch in the evenings because I don't much care for most of the shows these days.

So, we watch Pawn Stars, American Pickers, some restoration show and anything else on History. Don't get me wrong, those are great shows, but day after day they become, well, boring. I need action, fear, thriller, something to get the juices flowing. Nothing has stirred the imagination in a while.

Well, I'm taking care of all that. I have a nice action movie lined up for tonight and October is prime television for me with all the horror and paranormal shows on. Hopefully, this will stimulate and charge the muse for a while.

In the mean time I'm planning a combination birthday and Halloween party for my daughter. I don't do parties well, but I'm trying my best to make it a memorable one for her. Can't wait to see all the little one's dressed up!

Okay, I'm off to overload the brain with gore, fright and hopefully ideas.
